Kohima, August 13 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education has notified that the guidelines for 'National Awards for Persons with Disabilities' are available at www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in, and that the last date for submission of self-nominations at the portal (www.awards.aov.in) by eligible persons is August 28. Further details may be obtained from the web portal mentioned above, it added.

DC Khm says hoisting Indian national flag not mandatory 

KOHIMA, AUGUST 13 (MExN): Stating that there has been some misinformation spreading in and around Kohima district claiming that directions have been given for mandatory hoisting of the Tricolour in individual households, shops, etc, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C, issued a clarification. In a notice, the DC  reiterated statements made during the meetings held with regard to the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign on August 5 and 8 with various government agencies and other stakeholders, and said that  the purchase and hoisting of the National Flag is purely voluntary and not mandatory. However, an appeal has been made to all citizens to participate in the campaign for its successful implementation. Any further clarification in this regard may be sought from the office of the Deputy Commissioner Kohima, he added.

ATSU asks HoDs to stay in place of posting

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (MExN): The Aghunato Town Students Union (ATSU) has asked all HoDs of departments in Aghunato town to be stationed at their place of posting. A press release from the ATSU President informed that Aghunato has ten different government departments “where all departments have been neglected in many ways because of absent HoDs in all departments.” “The engineer of PWD Department, SDEO of Education Department, SDO of Agri Department, STO of Sub Treasury and ADC in-charge of administration are requested to be stationed at Aghunato,” the union said. It informed that the union with the help of ESSU visited all the offices on August 9 and found that some offices are in deplorable condition. The employees are seen maintaining the offices but without any office works, it said, adding that the HODs are mostly unavailable. The ATSU also asked the government to post the ADC at Aghunato which is the current head of administration and the instructor at the Industry Office, Aghunato. 

Dmp Police informs

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (MExN): The Dimapur Police today informed that post the March 5, 2015 incident at City Tower junction, the district administration had issued a standing order stating that City Tower Dimapur shall not be permitted to be utilized for any public gatherings or functions and sticking of hoardings or banners/posters was prohibited. A press release from the Commissioner of Police said that the order still stands enforced and urged the public to adhere to the order. Defaulters shall be prosecuted under section 188 CrPC, it cautioned.
