ADC Kohima informs
Kohima, August 30 (MExN): ADC Kohima Rhosietho Nguori has informed concerned villages and all the Ward Panchayat and Colony under Kohima Town that the Assam Rifles will be conducting small arms firing with effect from September 1 to 30 at Firing Range Kohima Garrison. The ADC has informed all concerned to not enter in the Firing Range nor take cattle grazing near the Firing Range during the period.
Nagaland Gorkha Association’s AGM on September 4
Dimapur, August 30 (MExN): The Annual General Meeting of the Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) will be held on September 4 in Mokokchung. Besides the theme, "Role of NGA in relation to the present scenario in Nagaland: The Way Forward,” the AGM will also discuss various other important issues pertaining to the community, informed a press release from NGA President Nobin Pradhan. Delegates from a total of eight districts are attending the meeting, hosted by Gorkha Union Mokokchung, it added.
Akato-led NSCN(R) suspends 2
Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): The NSCN (R) led by Akato Chophi has suspended two members - Obed Chophi (Rajou Peyu) and Aketo Sema (Under Secretary) for an “indefinite period of time.”A suspension order through MIP, NSCN/GPRN, signed by UT Chairman against Obed Chophi (Rajou Peyu) and another order signed by Chief Secretary against Aketo Sema (Under Secretary) were initiated for misconduct and breach of NSCN/GPRN Yehzabo, a press release stated. “The inappropriate misdemeanour by both members had attracted penalties as enshrined in Article D, Part 1&3 of the Party Discipline,” added the release from MIP, Akato-led NSCN (R).
