AC donated to NHAK

Kohima, July 26 (MExN): Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Chairman, Mhathung Yanthan along with the Members of the Committee and Officials of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat had conducted ‘on-the-spot verification’ of the NHAK on July 21. During its inspection of the Intensive Care Unit, the Committee felt the urgent need of an Air Conditioner in the Seminar/Tele ICU Room. Accordingly, an Air Conditioner was donated and handed over to Dr Sendimeren Aonok, Managing Director, NHAK on July 26.

DC Peren directs property owners

Peren, July 26 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Peren, Vineet Kumar, in a public notice, informed that a joint meeting was held on July 20 at the Additional Deputy Commissioner Office, Jalukie, with the Village Council of Heningkunglwa and New Ngwalwa, along with NZPO and ZOAN, regarding the 2-lane National Highway 129A Package IV. It was agreed that the two villages have given their NOC for the construction of NH129A in the disputed area (Chainage 169.050 to 173.850, 4.8 km). The DC also mentioned that the damage compensation amount will be kept in a separate account operated by Deputy Commissioner Peren and will be released in due course. Therefore, all property owners in the above-mentioned stretch have been directed to vacate their properties to enable the execution of works.

Gov to grace Tsüngremmong festival at Mangmetong

Kohima, July 26 (MExN): The pre-harvest festival of the Ao Naga, Tsüngremmong, will be celebrated at Mangmetong village on August 2. The celebration programme is being organised by the Village Council, Mangmetong, in honour of the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan. Along with the Governor, the festival will be graced by the presence of Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton. Students of GHS Mangmetong will handle the reception of the guests at the village gate, after which the village youth will escort them to the venue (Er Akangmeren Playground, Mangmetong). Short speeches will be delivered by Advisor, Soil & Water Conservation, IPR, Imkong L Imchen, and Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji. The programme also includes Tsüngremmong Festivities and Feast, stated a DIPR report.

Naga Council Dimapur meeting 

Dimapur, July 26 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has informed all the Presidents of Tribal Hohos and NCD Councilors that a joint meeting will be held on July 29 at 11:00 am in NCD Office Conference Hall to discuss the proposal for fund-drive for the construction of New NCD Office Building Construction. Therefore, NCD in a press release has requested all concerned to make it convenient to attend the meeting and share suggestions for the welfare of all the Nagas and the citizens in Dimapur.

NWVA general meeting

Kohima, July 26 (MExN): All the members of the Nagaland Women Voluntary Association (NWVA) have been informed that a general meeting of the Association will be held on July 28 at the State Banquet Hall at 3:30 pm. NWVA General Secretary Kakheli Jakhalu has requested all to attend the meeting. 

ZB (AMN) denounces Manipur violence

Peren, July 26 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and its frontal organizations have strongly denounced the horrific and inhuman action of “parading naked and raping two Kuki-Zo” women by the beastly mob in Manipur on May 4, which went viral in the social media recently. The ZCOs also condemned the alleged cold blooded murdered of Lucy Marem, a Maring Naga woman of Narum village, Chandel district on July 15 evening, at Sawombung, Imphal East District. “The prevailing situation of lawlessness and democratic value deficit is viewed as a result of state ruling dispensation default or complacency,” it stated in a press release. The ZCOs also urged the Government of Manipur and the Central government to book all perpetrators and criminals involved and dispense justice to all the victims and deceased without delay.
