As per the directive of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, DRDA Tuensang conducted orientation training for officers of line departments and BDOs along with Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, DC & CEO, DRDA Tuensang. Presentation on GPDP and VPRP was made by Ebou Chang, BDO Panso and Thrikyuse Sangtam, ADPM, NSRLM. T Achila Quinker, PD DRDA Tuensang also urge the audience to be serious in the whole planning process of the GPDP. She also appraised on how proper planning can lead to Convergence of schemes among the line departments, so that bigger project can be taken up effectively with conglomeration of technical expertise, funds and ideas of various line departments. 

Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has taken several policies and initiatives to ensure uninterrupted and efficient service delivery to its subscribers. Against this backdrop, EPFO launched PRAYAAS Initiative under which the statutory body under Ministry of Labour and Employment, GoI will now strive to release pension on the day of attaining 58 years of age to the members of EPS 1995. As a part of this, Samarendra Dey, Assistant PF Commissioner, Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), Special State Office, Dimapur has handed over the pension papers to Mon Bahadur Gurung, an employee of Zakiesato Memorial School, Dimapur on the day of attainment of the age of 58 years in a function held in the school on September 29. This is a first such initiative in the state of Nagaland.

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) organised an awareness workshop on waste segregation for Ward Sanitation Committee members in its conference hall on September 29 under the slogan of ‘Kachra Alag Karo Amrit Diwas.’ Resource persons, Zakiekhotuo Kiso, Office Secretary, KMC spoke on waste segregation while Keduvi Zhotso, Advocate cum Panel Lawyer, KDLSA spoke on duties and responsibilities of local authorities and village panchayat of census towns and urban agglomerations - under Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 and Asenla Walling, Advocate cum Panel Lawyer, KDLSA spoke on criteria and actions to be taken for Solid Waste Management in the hilly areas under Solid Waste Management Rules 2016. In a first of its kind, a ‘Village Garden’ was created at Okotso village in Wokha district on September 29. This initiative by the Okotso Village Council was carried out with an aim to plant fruit tree species in a dedicated area within the village premises where villagers as well as visitors could relish on the fruits grown from the village itself. The concept also gained momentum in an effort to make the village self sufficient in the near future. Litchi and mango saplings were planted in the garden with plans to plant more species in the coming years. Also, in order to create ‘memory plantations’, the saplings were planted by the elderly citizens of the village.
