Central Institute of Horticulture, Nagaland conducted training on ‘Processing of horticulture crops and Production Technology of mushroom’ at Grace Colony, Dimapur on October 27 and 28. It was organized in coordination with Dimapur Lirmenlar Telongjem. Vinika Aomi, Post Harvest Technologist delivered training cum hands on practical demonstration on preparation of Chilli pickle and orange squash. The two-day block level teachers training on use of TLMs developed for ECCE, FLN at EBRC Ahthibung was held on October 28-29.  A total 125 teachers attended the day-one training. Kachari Youth of Purana Bazar, East Dimapur has formed a youth organization with the nomenclature ‘Purana Bazar Kachari Youth Organization’ (PBKYO). The office bearers and members will be led by Jai Kishan Mech as President, Rupesh Mech as General Secretary, Bickey Mech as Advisor and 17 others members were also elected for 2022-2024 tenure. The PBKYO formation was graced by Tohoshe Awomi, Chairman Purana Bazar Tribal Council and Kanato S Awomi President East Dimapur Naga Youth Organization and Pitu mech Head GB Purana Bazar.  As per the direction of the Office of the District Election Office, Livingstone Foundation International College conducted ‘Slogan competition’ on the theme ‘My Vote Matters’ as part of the Young Voters Festival. Altogether, there were 15 participants in the competition which was conducted on October 26 in the college campus. Out of the participants, Tinilo A Awomi, Tughunaka Zhimo and Akivili Sema of Arts 1st Semester were adjudged as First, Second and Third positions respectively.

North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) conducted awareness campaign on ‘HIV prevention and suicide prevention among youths’ at Peace Centre Hall, Chümoukedima on October 29. It was organized by IQAC Cell NEISSR in collaboration with MSW Semester-I, District Aids Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) & Serendip Guardians. The resource persons were Bokatoli Sumi, Assistant Director Serendip Guardians and Orenthung Ngullie, District ICTC Supervisor. Niuland District Planning & Development Board meeting was held at DC Conference Hall Niuland on October 28. DC and Vice Chairman DPDB Niuland, Sara S Jamir requested the officers in charge of Niuland district and functioning from Dimapur to give equal importance to the Niuland District and warned the erring Officers that the matter will be forwarded to the higher authorities for necessary action. The meeting discussed Recognition of Hokuto & Kiyekhu village, construction of Adhoc Town committee office, construction of drainage at Kuhuboto Town, approval of DPR for opening Platinum College (WSBAK) at Nihokhu village, upgradation of EAC Nihokhu to SDO(C) and constitution of Adhoc Town Committee in respect of Nihokhu circle. Shalom Public School, Chümoukedima observed its Children’s Camp at the school premises on October 28 and 29 based on the theme, ‘Wilderness Escape: Where God Guides and Provides.’ The Camp was led under the leadership of Covenant Kids, Spirit of Faith Church and The Kingdom Church. Awareness programme on blood donation and blood donation camp organised by St Joseph University, Chümoukedima Department of Social Work in collaboration with NSS and CIHSR was held under the theme, ‘Together to Care for Health’ on October 27.  Dr Nounchetuo Miachieo, MD Consultant Pathologist CIHSR was the resource person. Around 200 students attended the awareness programme and 62 were voluntary donor students. Two doctors and six staff from CIHSR initiated the donation drive. 

St Joseph University, Chümoukedima inaugurated its Red Ribbon Club on October 28. Orenthung Ngullie, Supervisor, District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit Dimapur as the special guest spoke on the role and significance of RRC. The presidential addressed was delivered by Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr Gnanadurai.
