Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) organised a one-day capacity building training on ‘segregation of waste, solid waste management rules, E-waste management rules and other existing waste management rules’ as part of the capacity building under SBM-U-2.0 on March 31. The beneficiaries of the training were its sanitation wing comprising of sanitation workers, Sardars, sanitation inspectors and officials, stated a DMC press release. The keynote address was given by W Manpai Phom, Administrator DMC. LiFE Living for Environment, an environmental NGO and E-Circle, were the resource persons engaged for the programme.

Reproductive and child health along with MMU health camp was conducted at Satakha PHC on March 28. A total of 159 beneficiaries availed the camp. Department of Health & Family Welfare, Wokha organised Reproductive Child Health (RCH) camp at Sungro Primary Health Centre on April 1. The medical team led by Dr Zubenthung Kikon, Chief Medical Officer, Wokha provided health services such as dental evaluations, screening of children by Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Kayakaramteam Wokha, laboratory testing services for HIV & AIDS and blood sugar, general health check up, free medicinesetc during the one day camp. A total of 183 patients availed the free health services. More than 8 Ante Natal Checkups were also conducted by the medical officers during the RCH camp. One-day training for SMOs, MOs & CHOs was held on National Programme for Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH) cum training on National Rabies Control Programme at the Conference hall, Office of Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung on March 30. The trainees were introduced and trained on NPCCHH, heat-related illnesses, identification of rabid dog and prevention of dog bite including prophylaxis/vaccination of pets, animal bite management & rabies prophylaxis and reporting procedures for both the programmes. Members of JCI Dimapur Creators organised a blood donation camp on April 2 at Dimapur District hospital. A team of doctors and nurses assisted in collection of blood in the Hospital, led by Dr. Temsu. The NBCJ coordinator of the project was HGF Meena Ajmera, President Mridula Agarwal and IPP Neeta Agarwal.
