All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) held a meeting with the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio along with Deputy Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and other officials to address a range of critical issues. The meeting was held in the CM’s residential office in Kohima on May 3. A press note received here stated that the ANPSA Central office bearers conveyed gratitude to the CM for his “commitment to implement appropriate measures in response to the concerns raised during the discussions.” ANPSA also expressed gratitude for instituting the Chief Minister’s Meritorious Students Fellowship for meritorious students of Nagaland Board of School Education. This fellowship could be the first of its kind in the country.

CL John, Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Village Guard, Government of Nagaland called on Union Minister, MSME, Narayan Rane in New Delhi on May 3. During the meeting, the potential of the state for development of timber-based manufacturing hubs and the dovetailing of this with the Central Government’s Look East Policy were highlighted to the Union Minster, stated a press release received here. Organizing of a National Level Vendor Development Program in the state of Nagaland was also discussed. Union Minister Narayan Rane assured that “all assistance would be extended to the state in this regard and also promised to visit the state of Nagaland.”

National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Livingstone Foundation International College conducted a survey on ‘youth not in formal education and regular employment’ at the adopted Murise village on May 3. It was conducted under the directives of NSS North East Zone and State NSS Officer (Ministry of Youth and Sports) with the main objective to gather information about the challenges faced by the youths in finding employment or pursuing education. A total of 23 students, four NSS teacher representatives, and NSS Programme Officer Jemsungba Walling took part in the survey.
