Nagaland: Nsunyu village gets sub-centre

Kohima, February 23 (MExN): The inaugural function of Nsunyu sub-centre held on February 22 along with a medical camp at the Nsunyu Village Council Hall. 

The office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kohima along with District Health Society, Department of Health & Family Welfare, NHM conducted the camp and altogether 110 inhabitants availed health services.

At the camp, CMO Dr Vezokholu Theyo urged to the gathering to avail all the services and also part take in various group discussion for a healthy life style and to practice for better health seeking behavior. 

She also said that she expects the villagers to derive the maximum benefits from the health camp.

The CMO also reminded the gathering on the responsibilities of each and everyone in bringing about health awareness to uplift the health of the society in general and for contribution of the individual in particular. 

She also stressed on the community level where the VHC should take initiative for Village Health & Nutrition Day (VHND) and to channelised for visit of Medical officer to the village round the clock. 

Dr Theyo also informed the gathering that IMR & MMR has drastically reduced due to awareness and stated that health camps are the platform for people to avail the service provided by the health department. 

She also spoke on the need for community participation for bringing about sustainable health care services through their participation and active contribution. 

At the camp, gift packages were distributed to elderly people while ICTC screening were also provided.

Besides, 26 Dental procedures, 49 medicine specialist screening, 28 AYUSH consultations, 2 immunizations, 37 Non Communicable Disease screening, and 25 Eye screening – 25 were done at the camp.  Two other also received COVID -19 testing/vaccination.

 Lab test were provided with free medicines and distribution of IEC materials, a press release informed.
