
Dimapur, February 1 (MExN): In its second week of the month-long operations to combat the menace of widespread drug and alcohol use in the state, the Nagaland Police has registered 35 cases and made 37 arrests in this connection.
In a press release on Tuesday, the Nagaland Police informed that for the week between January 18 and 24, it registered 27 cases and arrested 29 persons in connection with the seizure or 9,308 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). A total of eight cases were also registered and eight arrests were made in connection to the seizure of narcotics and psychotropic substances which included 4,878 numbers of Spasmo Proxivon, 55 grams of brown sugar, 15 kilograms of opium, 360 kilograms of ganja, and 0.5 gram of heroin.
Meanwhile, stating that it would continue zealous measures to crack down on anti-social elements and activities, the state police also appealed to the general public to jointly combat the menace by providing any information related to sale, distribution, transport of any form of narcotics, drugs, IMFL, etc., to the nearest Police station or Nagaland Police officers whose CUG phone numbers are available in the 'Call Your Cop' mobile application.
