Nagaland Police bows out of ATPA Shield tournament

Jorhat, April 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Police football team was beaten by Assam State Electrical Board (ASEB) 2-1 in the semifinal match of the 57th Assam Tea Planters Association (ATPA) Shield Football Tournament at Jorhat District Sports Association (JDSA) playground on April 8. 

The tournament is being organized by Jorhat District Sports Organization as a part of its centenary celebration.
The Nagaland team went down fighting against one of the best teams from Assam despite their best effort. 

Despite leading the match by a goal through Rhitsho Mero, ASEB team got back into the game through a controversial penalty and found the equaliser. In the dying minutes, ASEB team struck another goal to send Nagaland Police back home. 

The Nagaland Police team is led by coach Lhoulavolie, Asst coach - Hainsiugongbe and R Dibambo as manager. The players for the tournament were Neithovilie Chalieu, Sanyem Konyak, Meribui, Paul, Menoneikho Nakhro, Khwetelhi Thopi, Rhitsho Mero, Veseto Chuzho, Lipok Sashi Jamir, Bendang Meren, Kezhose, Imli Akum, Seisanglen, Amun Nungsaham, Limakumzuk, Y Lemtong and Digungpeung, Kekhrie, Haiso.
