Nagaland student unions of Delhi welcome state government’s effort

Dimapur, April 21 (MExN): Nagaland student unions of Delhi including the Delhi Eastern Naga Students Union, Ao Students Union, Lotha Students Union, Nagaland Zeliang Students Welfare Delhi, Rengma Students Union Delhi, and Angami Students Union Delhi, acknowledged the state government’s effort to reach out to distress calls through the Nagaland House officials.

 

A joint press release from the student bodies stated that the COVID-19 lockdown has caused several hardships to students and working professionals who are stranded in different cities, many of whom are going through difficult times in procuring essential commodities and financial resources to meet their daily needs.

 

However, it stated that the government of the day is doing the best it can to reach out to these stranded students in different cities. “We are sincerely grateful to the Government of Nagaland for effectively responding to the calls for help by students and working professionals,” it added.

 

The unions also thanked DRC Nagaland House Kethosituo Sekhose, PRO Nagaland House Kuolie Mere, Senior Medical Officer Dr Hentok Phom and all the officials who have been striving to provide all forms of assistance, and said that the Nagaland House has been at the forefront in reaching out to all distress calls of citizens from Nagaland by coordinating with various students unions.

 

“As the lockdown has been extended we are aware that the continued assistance from Nagaland House and the state government is dire necessity for many of our dear members. We thank the Government for the help extended thus far and we implore the continued care of the Government in this time of crisis,” the release added.
