Kohima, November 26 (MExN): The Nagaland government will celebrate Constitution Day on November 26, 2025, to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution.
The celebrations will coincide with the culmination of yearlong events themed “Hamara Samvidhan - Hamara Swabhiman,” Principal Secretary and Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha said in a circular.
All administrative heads of departments (AHoDs) have been directed to issue instructions for organising programmes in directorates and all district offices of their departments to mark the occasion, the circular stated.
The rest of the country will also observe the day.
During the observation, the Preamble to the Constitution shall be read out, which is reproduced below:
“WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:
JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation;
IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.”
