Nagaland to join ‘India’s 75 years of Independence’ celebration

Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The commemoration of 75 years of India's Freedom –Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav) will be launched on March 12 by the Prime Minister of India from Gujarat. 

The celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ would commence 75 weeks prior to the Independence Day 2022 on March 12, and will extend up to the Independence Day 2023. 

According to a DIPR report, Nagaland will also be holding programmes and events launching the celebration of India’s 75 years of Independence- ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ in a befitting manner.

There will be a March by over 150 volunteers drawn from NSS and NYK from High School Junction, Kohima to the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima on March 12 morning. The volunteers will be sporting caps, t-shirts and carrying banners with messages on ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ written on it. The March will culminate in the Naga Civil Secretariat Plaza where the volunteers will be joined by the school children. At the Naga Civil Secretariat Plaza there will be a function from 11:00 am onwards, which will have cultural programmes and song-and—dance displays on patriotic themes. 

The function will be graced by the Chief Minister, Nagaland as the special guest. 

A photo exhibition on the theme- ‘Celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence’ will also be organized by the Bureau of Outreach& Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

Also schools in Nagaland will be organizing one-hour Conference, Seminar, Symposium, Talk, Webinar or Presentation by students on the topic ‘Events leading to India’s independence from British rule and Role of various freedom fighters in it’ including essay Competition/Creative Writing Competition on the topic ‘Analysis of India’s struggle for independence – different schools of freedom movement from 1857 to 1947’.

NBSE request school in Nagaland 
The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has informed all the registered schools that the Government of India is celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence – ‘Azad ka Amrut Mahatsov.’ 

Coinciding with the inauguration, a number of events have been planned by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India and in Nagaland, the schools are requested to participate in the following two events:

•    March 12: One hour conference/talk/seminar with student’s participation as speakers and presenters on ‘A talk on India’s freedom struggle’. 

    Schools are requested to post the video clips of the event on the social media platforms of the school by tagging the following: Twitteer-@EduMinOfIndia; Facebook- EduMinOfIndia; Instagram-eduminofindia

•    March 12 to April 12: Essay writing or creative writing on any one of the following by the students: Mahatma Gandhiji’s contribution to India’s freedom movement; The role of Indian National Congress in the freedom movement; The journey of progress since India got independence; Despite being so diverse, India has managed to stay united; Challenges faced by India on attaining independence in 1947.

For those participating in the essay writing or creative writing, the NBSE will give certificates to the best entries. From amongst the participants, every school must select the best entry and send it to collessay21@gmail.com, so that the Board can display it in the Board’s website. The schools have been requested to send the best entry to the Board on or before April 12.
