Kohima, December 8 (MExN): Nagaland’s angikaar campaign under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) (Urban) Mission is set for culmination on December 10. The three-month long campaign was launched on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and covered 14 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) extensively in the state.
A press release received here said the campaign will culminate in 14 towns at the city-level, while the state-level culmination will be held in Kohima.
Throughout the campaign, the state PMAY mission conducted weekly Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities and exercises aimed at PMAY beneficiaries and the general public for embracing behavioral change towards the 8 key components of the angikaar campaign.
The campaign in the state was marked with competitions at the state-level, city-level and ward level. The state-level category of competition included the angikaar 10k marathon run, wall painting, recycled-art, flash mob and inter-collegiate debate competition.
The city-level competition comprised of school painting and essay competition and at the ward-level. Activities conducted were the angikaar inter-ward penalty shoot-out, public speaker announcements, poster campaign at educational institutions etc.
