Nagaland’s RIELIT now upgraded to national level institute

Kohima | December 2: The Regional Institute of e- Learning & Information Technology (RIELIT) Kohima has been upgraded to national level institute and now named as National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT).
Making this declaration today at the institute premises, Neiba Kronu, deputy chairman, State Planning Board (SPB) thanked Government of India for upgradation of the institute.
The deputy chairman said RIELIT was awarded to Nagaland by former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in 2003 and it came into functional in 2004 to create skilled power in the area of computer science and informational technology.
Terming IT as a vast subject, Kronu said the world cannot move without IT today. He said the world has turned into global village because of computer and IT.
He acknowledged the RIELIT where it trained 3000 students so far, of which many are now serving in the different places.
“Do not worry for your job. Job is everywhere,” he said adding that the multi national companies are always ready to offer jobs to the north eastern people because of their ability to speak English fluently.
He however said that those multi national companies require quality and not quantity.
In this, he called upon the students to focus on quality so as to get job anywhere in the world.
“Be alert, be smart and earn us a good name,” he told the students.
Later, Kronu released the RIELIT magazine during its annual day cum pre-Christmas celebration on the same day. P.V. Hari Krishna, IAAS, Senior Deputy Accountant General (Audit), Kohima, Nagaland also present on the occasion as the guest of honour.
