The Nagaland Assembly of God Council (NAGC) Women’s Ministry leadership seminar began at Tseminyu Town AG Church on September 30. The two-day seminar, hosted by the Tseminyu Section Women’s Ministry, will conclude on October 1.

Altogether 148 women leaders representing five sections—Tseminyu, Angami, Wokha, Phek, and Dimapur—are attending the programme held under the theme “Enlarge the place of your tent” (Isaiah 54:2–3).

Day one featured three sessions. Dr Nighatoli P Achumi from the Pastoral Council, IICC, led the first two sessions, speaking on “Leading/Mentoring with Grace and Authority” and “Balancing Ministry, Family, and Personal Calling.”

In her first address, Dr Achumi underscored that leadership with grace must be reflected through compassion, empathy, forgiveness, patience, and encouragement. She encouraged participants to introspect whether they embodied these qualities in their roles. While acknowledging that many women often feel uncomfortable asserting authority, she stressed its importance in vision-setting, decision-making, and stewardship of responsibilities. A balance of both grace and authority, she said, forms the foundation of effective leadership.

She also advised leaders to practice self-assessment, to correct one another privately and praise publicly, while rooting their leadership in gospel values.

In the second session, Dr Achumi urged leaders to balance ministry with family and personal calling. She highlighted the importance of glorifying God in all roles, managing time wisely, and setting priorities to harmonise spiritual service and personal responsibilities.

The third session was taken by Vikono Khro on the theme “Servant Leadership—God’s Model for Ministry.” She defined a leader as one who leads, decides, and takes responsibility, but reminded that in God’s kingdom, leadership is grounded in humility and selfless service. “Our objective in ministry is to build the kingdom of God. We are servants of God, and God is our master,” she affirmed, while calling on leaders to model patience, live by example, and nurture future leaders.

The first day concluded with an evening gospel service, where Pastor Obed Kath, MSG Coordinator of Tseminyu, shared the Word of God based on the seminar’s theme.

On October 1, the seminar will continue with sessions led by Vikono Khro and Kekhriezhalie Khro, NAGC Coordinator, speaking on “The Beauty That Lasts: Fearing the Lord” and “Trusting God Even When Life Doesn’t Make Sense.”
