Dimapur, January 16 (MExN): In a major seizure on narcotic drugs, the Narcotic Cell of the Excise Department, Nagaland seized a total of 210 kg of contraband ganja at Chümoukedima Excise Check gate, Dimapur on January 15.
According to a press release from S Chanlei Angh, Deputy Commissioner of Excise (NC), the Excise Narcotic Cell duty party signaled a suspicious Bolero to stop for frisking, based on intelligence inputs.
The driver made a U-turn and tried to escape, however, the duty party intercepted the vehicle after a chase, added the release. On further checking, the duty party recovered 210 kg contraband ganja in rectangular block forms. In this connection, one accused driver Nasu Rhi (29 years) was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act 1985, and further investigation is on.
