Dimapur, December 6 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi, IAS inaugurated the National Handloom Expo at Urban Haat Dimapur on December 6.
As per DIPR report, participants from various states including Manipur, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Andra Pradesh and Nagaland are participating in the Expo displaying and selling their colourful handloom products which will continue till December 19.
Deputy Director (Processing) Weaver's Service Center from Ministry of Textiles, GOI, Dr. V. Sivakkumar apprised DC Dimapur on the proposals, trainings and projects of the Center and for which the DC has convened a meeting on 10th December at 10:30 am for discussing proposals for identifying blocks for cluster allotment.
The National Handloom Expo is being organised by Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Kid Dimapur Nagaland and sponsored by the office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms) Ministry of Textiles Government of India, New Delhi.
