Kohima, September 18 (MExN): The felicitation programme in honor of National Teacher Awardee 2021 Head Teacher GMS Jakhama Swedesunuo Zao was held at the Directorate of school Education Morung Conference Hall on September 18 with guest of honour MLA and Advisor School Education, KT Sukhalu IAS (Rtd).
According to a DIPR report, Principal Director School Education Shanavas in his opening speech informed that the award was to be given by the President of India but due to COVID pandemic the awardee could not travel to Delhi so the award will be handed over by the Advisor School Education.
Congratulating Swedesunuo for her achievement, the Advisor KT Sukhalu informed that the department will be making arrangements for the awardee to travel to every district of Nagaland to interact with the students and teachers to carry the message of example so that the service of other teachers become more dedicated. He stated that he has been observing the surplus teachers enrollment whereas the enrollment of the students going down. So he felt the need to encourage the parents and the students that Government schools are second to none. Sukhalu mentioned that the national awardees are selected from lakhs of teachers from all over India which is a life time achievement. He called on all communities to support the education institution to have more improvement.
Earlier, the Advisor gave away the National Teacher award 2021 to Head Teacher GMS Swedesunuo Zao for her contribution and Dedication.
Swedesunuo acknowledged the department for organising the programme and thank all her staff for supporting her to reach this far and assured that with this national award she will work with more dedication and sincerity in the days to come.
Special Secretary to the Government of Nagaland Department of School Education and SCERT Kevileno Angami congratulate Swedesunuo head teacher GMS Jakhama for bringing such an honour to the department. She said that despite all the challenges through her motivation, commitment, dedication and sincerity she has achieved the award. She appealed all the teacher to be more dedicated and sincere in their work.
