National Youth Volunteers Training in Nagaland concludes

Kohima, November 4 (MExN): A 15 days long National Youth Volunteers Training under the aegis of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Nagaland concluded on November 3 last at Kigwema under Kohima district.


Medo Yhokha, PRO to the Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Government of Nagaland graced the closing function as the special guest. Interacting with NYVs, Yhokha called upon the volunteers to learn to embrace each other,  coming over and above narrow tribal thinking and politics. He said that ism is a factor that have dragged and pulled Nagas back and down for so long.


“As we brace up to face the dawn of a new situation, with the Naga political process coming to its logical conclusion, the youths of today have to learn to maneuver the situation to the best of what the situation will present, keeping in focus the larger interest of our society and the Nagas inclusively,” he said.


As youth volunteers and enlightened youths, let us all take the calls as we together endeavor on to create and bequeath a better and safer place for ourselves and future generations to come, he added.
The programme was chaired by Albert Krocha, Programme Coordinator NYK Phek.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Mhasil Thol, NYV Kohima. The function also witnessed experience sharing by Thripili Anar NYV Kiphire and Hiya Kath NYV Kohima, training reports by Rokosano Phira NYV Kohima and Lanusangla NYV Mokokchung. Vote of thanks was proposed by Muletolu Vero, UNV-DYC, Kiphire.
