Kohima, March 17 (MExN): The Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) on Tuesday expressed extreme resentment towards the incident on March 12, where a person allegedly committed “battery with attempt to murder” on a woman.
According to NAYO, the accused, a Dealing Assistant at the EAC Headquarter, had made unauthorized deduction of Rs 100 each from remuneration made towards officers and staff on election duty. It said that the accused committed the “heinous crime” when the victim intervened and questioned the deductions.
NAYO vehemently opposed the release of the accused on bail when the case is in the initial process. It warned that if any untoward incident happens to the victim in the process, the Organisation will hold the person(s) responsible for bailing him, and appealed to the authority not to entertain any bail plea to anyone.
The victim is a respected member of NAYO, and the Organisation will not remain a mute spectator to any adversity shown or meted on any of its member, the NAYO statement asserted.
