The Notun Bosti Council Dimapur (NBCD) felicitated the oldest citizens of the colony during a brief programme on Monday.
After verification from the council, the oldest man and woman were identified as Wozamo Odyuo, son of Late Elansa Odyuo, resident of Lotha khel and Khumtsa Shokheli Sema, daughter of Late Khumtsa and resident of Angami khel, Notun Bosti.
The duo were presented with a token Rs 5,000 each, which was earlier announced and donated by Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton during the Notun Bosti gate inauguration programme, held on January 14 last.
Both Wozamo and Shokheli were also presented a Naga traditional stole each from the NBCD side.
NBCD chairperson Imkongnukshi Imchen, who chaired the felicitation programme thanked the deputy chief minister for the latter’s generous gesture towards the elderly citizens. Imchen also said that the colony as a whole would continue to pray for good health and long life of its senior citizens.
On the occasion, NBCD also conveyed its appreciation to three personalities from Notun Bosti for their achievements in different fields.
The three personalities are namely Jatila Jamir, DCP Traffic Dimapur, for being the first person from the colony to be conferred/inducted IPS cadre; Rankathung Vikram Ezung, NPS, AIGP (OPS) on being awarded Police medal for meritorious service, and NBCD advisor, Holuto Aye, for being nominated as vice president (Admin) of Naga Council Dimapur.
