Dimapur, December 8 (MExN): On the occasion of the first Nagaland Honey Bee Day December 5, the Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) felicitated the Beekeepers and Village Beekeeping Committees for their immense contribution towards the beekeeping and honey sector and for being exemplar beekeepers in their respective districts. The awards were handed over by the Chief Patron of the event Neiba Kronu, Minister for Planning & Coordination & Land Revenue on December 5, stated a press release received here.
They were awarded with cash prizes and certificates. The Best Beekeeper from the District received a sum of Rs 10,000/- and Best Village Beekeeping Committee received a cash award of Rs 20,000/- from NBHM. Also the awardees for the State Level Awards for Best Beekeeper and Best Village Beekeeping Committee were felicitated on the day with cash prizes, certificates and memento. Cash prize of Rs 20,000/- for Best Beekeeper and Rs 50,000/- for Best Village Beekeeping Committee.
State Level Award for Best Beekeeper was awarded to T Chuba of Yisemyong, Mokokchung. State Level Award for Best Village Beekeeping Committee was awarded to Chendang VBKC, Chendang Village Tuensang.
