NEIPF holds protest against CAB

Guwahati, November 24 (MExN): The North East Indigenous People's Forum (NEIPF) organized and held a ‘sit-in’ protest (Dharna) against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) at Chachal Dharna ground, Guwahati on November 22. A press release from Richard Haolai, Press Secretary, NEIPF stated the forum submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India demanding that CAB should not be passed. A copy of which was sent to all the Chief Minister of all the seven North Eastern States of India. The Dharna was attended by delegates from all the state units of NEIPF. Nagaland was represented by the Nagaland Indigenous People's Forum (NIPF) along with members from the Naga Students' Union Guwahati.
