Students participate in the march at the NEISSR campus to commemorate 75th Year of Indian independence on August 8.

Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research, Chümoukedima Nagaland commemorated the 75th year of Independence Day on August 8, during its reopening day for the academic session 2022.
According to a press release on Wednesday, Literary Secretary Chumei B Phom shared on the topic ‘Purpose of our life as a Social Worker’ and said that as social workers, one has to make sure to influence and inspire the society with compassion, commitment and competency. Zhovino Kechu, Assistant General Secretary, also urged the students to strive and work towards their dream despite of rejection, failure and disappointment.
Father Dr CP Anto, Principal of NEISSR, encouraged the students to maintain good health, be knowledgeable, skillful and to have the right attitude. A short message was shared by Father Scaria Kallor, Director and Founder of Peace Foundation, Kerala about India’s struggle for independence and that it was not by violence but by courage and moral virtue that India got its independence. He also emphasized on the vision and courage of the great leaders of India’s Independence struggle such as Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi, their courage, and commitment impact on the lives of the people. He also encouraged the students to feel the vibe of 75 years of India’s independence and make a peace in the world.
Later, introductory session for both the students and the professors were done. Thereafter, a short march was held in the campus to commemorate 75th Year of Indian independence. The programme concluded with the singing of the NEISSR Anthem, the release stated.
