Kohima, November 14 (MExN): Northeast India's First Bicycle Pump Track was launched in Kohima by Angami Youth Organization, Vice President, Neidilhoutuo Neibu on November 14.

The pilot project is taken up by the Kohima Smart City Development Ltd in continuation of the India Cycles4change Challenge which is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India which encourages and inspires cities to take up cycling friendly initiatives in the wake of COVID- 19.

A pump track is a set of rollers and berms which allows a cyclist to ride along without having to pedal much. It is a great community infrastructure where people from all ages can come and ride their bikes and have a great workout session. It also enhances rider skills and techniques.

“Main intent is to test on how the community can adopt and transform unused spaces into a high potential for repurposing by integrating them into the community, and for creating stunning spaces for public,” stated a press release from the Kohima Smart City Development Ltd.
