DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to the Prime Minister of India for declaration of the Trans Nagaland Highway or the Foothill Road as National Highway. In a letter to the PM, the NFHRCC pointed out that the Foothill Road project has been of “extraordinary character” as no land compensations was demanded by the land owners and no taxation was levied by any Naga political group or by any local authority. It informed that the Nagaland Chief Minister is “diligently pursuing the project with utmost dedication and sincerity.” The NFHRCC informed that the project is already approved by the Ministry and asked that the Prime Minister declare the road a National Highway.
