Dimapur, September 29 (MExN): Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) inspected its Water Treatment Plant at Pandu to review water treatment and quality-monitoring arrangements and ensure the availability of safe drinking water for railway staff and passengers.
The inspection was conducted by the Principal Chief Medical Director (PCMD), N.F. Railway. During the inspection, parameters including turbidity and residual chlorine were checked and found satisfactory. The residual chlorine level in the treated water was recorded at 2 ppm at the time of inspection. The inspection also reviewed the regular monitoring of water quality and maintenance of the treatment plant to ensure a safe and adequate supply of drinking water.
Officials from the medical, engineering and health departments at Maligaon and Pandu were present during the inspection. The concerned officials were advised to continue regular water-quality monitoring and ensure proper maintenance of the treatment facilities for a consistent supply of safe drinking water.
