Maligaon, August 27 (MExN): The train punctuality parameter of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on August 25 reached to 97.87%, the highest amongst all the 17 zones in Indian Railways. A press release from Subhanan Chanda, Chief Public Relations Officer stated that the NFR also fared best in train punctuality for the period from August 1 to 25 in Indian Railways by running 91.58% trains on time. The achievement was due to meticulous planning, monitoring and execution of train operations throughout all divisions of NF Railway.
It added that NFR officials were trying hard to improve train punctuality by adopting various measures and removing restrictions in train operations. The measures include planned maintenance and renewal of assets to minimize asset failures and increase reliability. The improvement in punctuality, also help the passenger to reach their destination in time apart from scheduled running of all passenger and goods train.
