NGBF, NPC jubilant over Naga political talks 

Dimapur, November 1 (MExN): The Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) today expressed “profound joy and satisfaction” over the Naga political talk which has reached an agreement point between the Government of India (GoI) and Naga negotiating groups.


“You have created a historic moment for not only the Nagas but the whole nation. It is indeed a great through in the history of Naga’s struggle for political and self determination,” a press statement from President Shahlem Konyak, General Secretary Shikuto Zalipu and Media Secretary Akhu Naga stated.


The NGBF acknowledged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for all the concern and efforts initiated to bring Nagas for peace talk and for the desire he has shown to see Naga people develop and progress.   


It also thanked the Governor and Interlocutor RN Ravi for the efforts he has taken, while adding that "as an elderly organization, we bless you for your long life and prosperity.”


NGBF lauded all the negotiating parties headed by Kitovi Zhimomi of 7 NNPGs and Thuingaleng Muivah, NSCN (IM) and expressed “profound gratitude for all their sacrifices.” It prayed that “God continue to guide you all as we step towards our God given destiny.”          

                                   
The Nagaland Peace Centre (NPC) in a separate press release also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “on the event of the historical achievement that has come through…Under whose initiation and concern for the Naga people, could finally bring about a positive outcome.” 


NPC Chairman, Pedi Miachieo in a release thanked RN Ravi for coordinating the peace dialogue between the GOI and NSCN (IM) and finding breakthrough to the decade long crises. It also acknowledged the NSCN (IM), led by TH Muivah for its sacrifices and reasonable decisions taken for the welfare and the interest of Nagaland in the recent talk. Meanwhile, the NPC urged both the negotiating teams and the various stakeholders to be involved in the upcoming talks, to continue to work on the aspirations and desires of the masses’ dreams to live in peace and prayed that the Almighty God grant them wisdom as they work for the final peace settlement, as it believes that “it is only through peace, progress and development take place.”
