Dimapur, June 10 (MExN): The Primary Health Centre in Niuland recently upgraded to Community Health Centre was inaugurated by I. Himato Zhimomi, Principal Secretary, Health & FW Nagaland on June 8. The inaugural programme began with the unveiling of the plaque by I. Himato Zhimomi.
The CMO Dimapur in a press release stated that Himato, speaking on the occasion as chief guest appreciated the medical officers, medical staff and the Administration Department for their continuous contribution and dedication towards bringing health care services to the public. He also reminded the public to avail the Health insurance provided by the Central Government in all the government health units. He further stated that the newly health unit upgraded to CHC Niuland will have more doctors, nurses, staffs and equipments. He urged the public to avail the health services brought to their doorstep.
Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur said, “Health is wealth and if there is no sickness, the financial status of the society improves. With good financial status, better education to children can be provided and thus a well-educated people will build a good society. Health is the back-bone of our economy as lots of money is spent on medical treatment. So therefore, maintain good relationships with the health workers at the CHC Niuland who will be taking care of your health.”
Athrila S. ADC Niuland stated that upgrading the Niuland PHC to CHC was a long felt need of the people that has been made possible. She said that the upgradation will serve the medical need of the public under Niuland. She urged the public to have the sense of ownership and nurture the CHC Niuland. She further said that the welfare of the medical staffs posted under CHC Niuland should be looked after by the public and should not be encumbered. She further stated that unless the public should show their support and interest towards the CHC Niuland, more facilities or more services will not be provided in the CHC in the future.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Obed, MO i/c Niuland CHC. The invocation was said by Pastor Tokhivi Yeptho, the welcome speech was delivered by Bohoto Aye, Vice Chairman, Adhoc Town Committee Niuland and Vote of thanks was delivered by Viqhei Zhimmomi, President GB Association Niuland Area. The program was attended by Dr. Antoly Suu, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Nyan, State Nodal Officer IDSP, Wacy Kent, SDO Niuland, Dr. Kavito, DTO, staff under CMO Dimapur and CHC Niuland, and representatives from Adhoc Town Committee Niuland and GB Association Niuland Area.
