Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) on Sunday appealed to the concerned department and contractor to strictly adhere to all laid down specifications in DPR and use quality materials for the black-topping works on Niuland road.
In a press release, the WSYF Media Cell stated that the Nagaland Public Works Department (Roads & Bridges) has awarded contract for the final stage of black-topping Niuland road to the same firm who completed the preliminary stages of filling potholes, metalling and soiling.
It said that the road is the lifeline of the people of Niuland district, and as such, appealed to the concerned department and contractor to strictly adhere to all laid down specifications in DPR and use quality materials. The WSYF further urged all villages along the stretch to cooperate with the contractor and ensure that works are taken up without hassles.
Stating that the development of the road is a long cherished dream of the people of Niuland district, the WSYF further stated that it would prohibit any form of taxation/donation from individuals, organisations, associations, Naga Political groups etc., against the ongoing black-topping works on the Niuland road.
The WSYF assures its full cooperation for smooth execution of the road works and would continue to monitor the construction till completion, it said, adding it would take prompt and necessary action against anyone collecting donations or taxation.
