Kohima, June 6 (MExN): The Naga National Council/Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN) of Chakhesang Region has prohibited the movement of timber and timber laden trucks in the Chakhesang area w.e.f. June 20 till further orders. In a press statement, Lieutenant Colonel S Tetseo, Naga Army, FGN stated that this step has been “necessitated” owing to the fact that many undesirable activities and anti-social elements have surfaced because of timber business disturbing the social harmony.
“Anyone violating this prohibition will be doing so at their own risk,” the statement read, adding the defaulters “should hold themselves responsible if any untoward or violent situations like damages to vehicle or physical confrontation crop up.”
