The nationwide IEC (Information, Education and Communication) campaign under PM JANMAN and DA-JGUA was launched in Wokha district on May 18, with district officials and line departments initiating a week-long outreach programme to ensure saturation of benefits under various government schemes, particularly for tribal communities and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).

The campaign, themed “Jan Bhagidari Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle,” will continue till May 25 across the district, focusing on awareness generation, beneficiary identification, last-mile service delivery, and coordinated field-level outreach.

Speaking at a coordination meeting, Deputy Commissioner Wokha, K Mhathung Tsanglao, said the campaign seeks to intensify information dissemination and ensure that “no eligible beneficiary remains uncovered under any welfare scheme.” He added that departments will undertake door-to-door IEC outreach, beneficiary saturation camps, Jan Sunwai (public hearing), health screening, livelihood promotion, and grievance redressal, especially in remote and vulnerable areas.

ADC Wokha, Renbomo Ezung, briefing departments, said the programme was a continuation of a similar exercise conducted earlier and urged all departments to activate their district and village-level teams for effective implementation.

He stressed daily documentation and uploading of activities, including photographs and videos, through the designated portal for proper monitoring, and called upon departments to work collectively despite resource constraints to ensure effective delivery of government schemes at the grassroots level.

As per the district action plan, the launch programme on May 18 included team briefing, IEC rally and departmental coordination involving all line departments.

The campaign activities will continue in clusters across the district. On May 19, Cluster 1 villages will undertake door-to-door IEC outreach, beneficiary identification, health screening and awareness drives led by departments including Health, Agriculture, Fisheries and Social Welfare.

Cluster 2 activities on May 20 will focus on Jan Sunwai (public hearing), grievance redressal, entitlement verification and land-related services involving the District Administration, Land Records and Tribal Affairs departments.

Infrastructure-related field inspections covering electricity, drinking water and housing will be conducted in Cluster 3 on May 21 by the Power, PHED and PWD departments, with focus on identifying and addressing service gaps.

On May 22, Cluster 4 will focus on livelihood and Self Help Group (SHG)-related activities, youth engagement, skill awareness and entrepreneurship promotion involving Rural Development, NSRLM, Horticulture and Fisheries departments to strengthen livelihood linkages.

A saturation camp involving all departments will be held in Cluster 5 on May 23 for on-the-spot service delivery, registrations, health camps and documentation support to ensure maximum scheme coverage.

The campaign will conclude on May 25 with a review meeting, reporting, documentation submission and media briefing at the district headquarters.
