Noklak area VGs attend training 

Noklak, December 8 (MExN): A two-week long training for the Village Guards of Noklak area villages concluded on December 5. A total of 88 VG Jawans from 17 villages under Noklak Sub-division underwent a basic training conducted at Noklak from November 21 till December 5.


Gracing the pass out parade of the VGs, a DIPR report stated that Additional Deputy Commissioner, Noklak, M Chaityanya Prasad, IAS acknowledged the contributions of the VGs in securing the security of the villagers from armed rebels and anti-social elements since its inceptions in 1953. While marveling the feat of VGs as the highest recipient of Ashok Chakra by any paramilitary forces in Nagaland, he encouraged the VGs to continue to live the legacy and to serve with dedications, discipline and inspire confidence to the public.


Awards were given to the following cadets. Best in Drill: L/Naik Langshen, Nokhu Village, Best in Weapon Handling: VG Langoi, Langnok village, Best in Endurance: VG Sheying, Yokao Village, Best Turnout: L/Naik Palong, Choklangan Village. Training on various courses was provided by personnel from, 3rd NAP 'F' Coy Noklak and DEF Noklak and Villages Guards.
