Mr & Miss Fresher of Norman Putsure College during the Freshers’ Day celebration on August 1.
Chümoukedima, August 1 (MExN): Norman Putsure College ushered in its new academic session with a Freshers’ Day celebration on August 1, themed “Enchanted Bloom,” aimed at fostering camaraderie and showcasing the talents of incoming students.
The event, held on the college campus, saw a formal session inaugurate the proceedings, highlighted by an inspiring address from Principal Dr Timothy Langwangbe. He encouraged the freshers to embrace academic excellence, pursue personal growth, and actively participate in campus life without fear.
The formal programme also featured a welcome song by senior students, a speech by senior representative Mark Kikon, a special musical performance, and a vote of thanks from fresher Temsunenla Jamir.
The highlight of the day was the Mr & Miss Fresher competition, which comprised Traditional, Casual, Formal, and Final Rounds, testing contestants on confidence, creativity, and personality. In the final results, S Tsoiniu Grace Khiam from the Department of Sociology and Machiting from the Department of Political Science were crowned Miss and Freshers 2026, respectively.
