Kohima, November 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Pensioners’ Association (NPA) Kohima informed the Government Employees who had retired from service during the period from 01.01-2020 upto 30-06-2021 that as per provision contained in the CCS Pension Rule 1972, Retirement as well as Death-Cum-Retirement Gratuity are to calculated with basic pay plus DA as on date of retirement/dead of the employees.
However, due to delay in released of DA, calculation of retirement and death gratuity were carried out at 17% without waiting for the enhanced rate, the NPA said.
Accordingly, keeping in view of less payment, on gratuity in lieu of leave for one-time benefit admissible to employee on retirement, the Government on April 24, 2022 issued a notification informing on the amount of DA to be taken into account for re-calculation of gratuity.

All eligible employees are advise to approach their departments or Nagaland Pensioners’ Association Kohima for guidance how to process the matter by producing their PPO books, it added.
