NPCC demands Nagaland Govt to file FIR in Sangma cases

Dimapur, July 3 (MExN): In connection to the case of Rosy and Samuel Sangma, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has demanded Nagaland Government to file FIR in the case and also to pay Rs 10 lakh each for the loss to the bereaved family from the public exchequer.

NPCC president, K Therie in its statement on Saturday said the State has lost two young upcoming citizens at Gurugram “mysteriously.”

According to Therie, ‘Temjenyanger Longkumer, Secretary NPCC and Chairman NPCC Minority Department, Rajesh Sethi’s finding on the cause of death of late Rosy on June 24 in Alpha Hospital Gururgram is “suspicious.” ‘Secondly, the mysterious death of Samuel Sangma on June 25 at Altman’s International Hotel room by hanging cannot be believed to be a case of suicide,’ he stated. “According to our information, late Samuel Sangma has struggled and lived in and around Delhi for more than 9 years successfully,” he added.

“The question we have is why the post-mortem report is not released despite the lapse of over one week? Delay in releasing the post-mortem report only creates more doubt. Why the Chief Minister has not taken up with his Haryana counterpart? Are any of Nagaland’s citizens of any less importance before the State Government?” NPCC questioned.

Further, stating that ‘this is not the only case where our children’s dead bodies were brought back home from various States,” NPCC asserted, “It is the duty of the State Government to protect life and future of our youth wherever they are. State Government must let the nation know we want equal treatment and respect, just as we do to them and just as our youth serve them.”
