DIMAPUR, JANUARY 27 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) today welcomed the initiative of the Nagaland Lokayukta for sanctioning inquiry against a retired Commissioner & Secretary of the Tourism Department, Nagaland. The Lokayukta giving sanction to the state police to “charge sheet her for her alleged involvement in illegal appointment in her former department is much welcome,” stated a press release from the NPF Press Bureau.
It further urged the anti-corruption body to “apply the same yardstick against all the other erring officers” indulging in corrupt practices and not succumbing to "any political pressure." Expressing hope that such action against government officials is bereft of “political vendetta,” it added that other corruption cases “lying pending in the court of Lokayukta” should not be ignored too. The release however did not specify the other corruption cases which it claimed are pending.
“The public expect that the Lokayukta will do away with all the other pending cases fairly,” the NPF added.
