•-Apropos to the letter captioned “An Appeal to NPSC Secretary” written by Shri. Hotovi Sumi, Purana Bazar, Dimapur which appeared in the 2nd May, 2011 issue of the Morung Express, the NPSC is to clarify that the Commission has received requisition for 3 (three) posts of LDA-cum-Computer Assistant under the establishment of Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland vide letter No. ELE/ESTT-81/2007-08/745 dated 5/11/2009 and accordingly, the said posts were advertised vide Adv. The NPSC is to further clarify that due to an in advertent oversight, when the result was declared on 25th April, 2011, only 3 (three) candidates were recommended for appointment as LDA-cum-Computer Assistant under the establishment of Chief Electoral Officer. On noticing the error, the Commission promptly issued another Notification  vide NPSC/CON-16/2004 dated 25/4/2011 rectifying the error by recommending 2 (two) more candidates for appointment in order of merit. Therefore, the total number of candidates recommended for appointment of LDA-cum-Computer Assistant under the establishment of Chief Electoral Officer is 5 (five) which is the total number of posts requisitioned by the department as of 2/11/2010.
While freedom of expression is an inherent right of the citizens, the NPSC once again appeal to the public that for any matter which may have further ramification, the matter may be firstly clarified from the Commission instead of going public in the interest of all concerned.
