NRLM reaches out to Mezoma

Kohima, November 20 (MExN): A seven day mobilization and institution building programme for women at Mezoma has begun today by the Block Mission Management Unit of Sechu Zubza of Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), under Kohima District, and Internal Community Resource Person (ICRPs) as facilitators. The team arrived at Mezoma village for ICRP Round - a village stay, programme.  

The first day began with a village entry point (VEP) programme culminating all the stakeholders namely the VC, GBs, youths, students, women leaders’ aspirant, SHG members at village council hall.  

A case presentation was delivered by Kikropole Sachu, member of Zhavi Self Help Group (SHG) from Kidima village. She encouraged the women to come forward and catch up with the rest of the womenfolk in the country and get on board to gain knowledge, learn to work together and strengthen one another, promoting financial income, build leadership beyond family, modernize the family with healthier practices, contribute to building one’s community and reduce poverty. She showcased how she enrolled herself into Self Help Group under the stewardship of NRLM and improved her economic condition and uplifted her family to newer height.  

Earlier, Rajuselie Lhousa, programme manager (financial inclusion), state mission management unit, NSRLM, shared on the concept and vision of NRLM. He said it is one of the most successful and progressive platform amongst all flagship schemes of the government. He said women were even able to have direct talk with the Prime Minister or any central leader through video conferencing (VC) and share success stories of government schemes. He shared his optimism that very soon women will have greater share of human resource to develop and change the social structure for a better and healthier society.  

Delivering welcome address, Pfukuolie Vikhrie, Village Council Chairman, expressed his happiness to the staff of NSRLM for reaching out to the less privileged section of the society with the objective of alleviating poverty through the participation of women. He assured his full cooperation and support to saturate every household into the programme sooner than later.  

The meeting was chaired by Pelevito Kiso, area coordinator, invocation prayer by Neiyanguu Sirie, President Mezoma Women Society, and experience of village stay by Videtono Phinyo, area coordinator. The meeting concluded with the active participation of enthusiastic women in the interactive session, press release from Rajuselie Lhousa, Programme Manager (Financial Inclusion) informed.
