Zunheboto, October 13 (DIPR): Three day training on National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) started on October 13 at VDB Hall Zunheboto.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of Extension training Centre SIRD Phek district, Dr. Kedise Pochu said that the SGSY programme was introduced on the occasion of India’s 50 years of Independence in order to upgrade the living standard of the people below poverty line. However, he said that the programme could not be implemented successfully therefore the Government has re-organised this programme under the name NRLM and has launched in all the States and is going to be implemented in Nagaland shortly this year. He further briefed on three pillars of NRLM i.e. Finance expansion of the existing livelihood option for the poor people; building avenues for the job market outside the State and nurturing of self employed and entrepreneurs (for micro entrepreneurs).
