Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed grief over the demise of (L) Lieut Col Peter Sankhil Lamkang, MSM/Meritorious Service Medal of the General Headquarters (GHq), Naga Army from Paraolon village under Khurmi Region on February 7. He enrolled in the Naga national service on January 19, 1991.
A condolence message issued by the MIP NSCN (IM) stated that late Lamkang served the Naga nation with unwavering national spirit until his demise. “The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For his selfless contribution to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifice for the Naga nation ever be cherished by all,” the message stated.
“The office of the Longvibu, Naga Army bestowed upon him posthumously the rank of Colonel on February 7, 2020 in recognition of his service to the Naga nation,” it added.
The NSCN (IM) also conveys its deep condolences to the bereaved family members and prays to the Almighty God to grant his soul eternal peace and rest.
