NSCN (IM) says flag & constitution matters to ‘Naga pride, identity, future and security’

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 22 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today stated that the Naga flag and constitution matters to Naga pride, identity, their future and security, and their “covenant with God.”

A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) further stated that the “political decency and Naga sentiment cannot be discarded” in the name of “going along with contemporary reality.” It further said that the “agreed principle of honourable and acceptable solution cannot be sidelined” under the “pretext of compromising with contemporary reality.”

It meanwhile lamented at the Government of India’s handling of the Naga political issue, and accused the latter of “machinated use of primary stakeholders by adopting ‘yes men groups’ and ignoring the others.”

“In the absence of majority Naga tribal groups, this so called primary stakeholders is not only a misnomer but against the Naga’s democratic practice. This is simply sowing the seed of division in the name of pushing Naga solution without getting the mandated blessing,” it further claimed.
