NSCN Khaplang on Myanmar election & IBRF

DIMAPUR, JULY 24 (MExN): The NSCN Khaplang has stated its position on the Myanmar election and the issue of the Indo-Burma Revolutionary Force (IBRF). A press note issued by the MIP has pointed out that the “ignominy and ignorant existence of Khehoi gang has compelled themselves to embark on un-known realities much beyond their comprehension, experience or understanding”. On the  allegation of SS.Khaplang’s involvement in Junta controlled Myanmar election, the MIP note termed it as “very ludicrous and stupid on the part of Khehoi gansters, who knows nothing or interested in anything except within the warm comforts of Dimapur, dreams, speaks and writes only on India-tutored and nurtured concepts of economic packages and pro-India solutions”.
It clarified that the “Nagas of Eastern Nagaland had for decades not only resisted but fought tooth and nail with Burmese forceful attempt of absorbing the Nagas into it’s fold” and that in “order to protect and preserve it’s identity and rights, the Nagas had hitherto prevented even a semblance of efforts of Burmese junta to develop the Naga country”. According to the MIP, this on-going resistance has resulted in complete isolation of the Nagas so much so that even today not a single road has been constructed in Naga areas, no modern school, health centre, information and communication facilities etc and sheer denial/absence of economic development despite abundant mineral wealth and others rich natural resources.
It pointed out that the Eastern Nagas could have succumbed to various pressure tactics and the “prospective economic developments”. “However, the history, identity and struggle of the Nagas would have been completely obliterated and as result the future of the Nagas would have remained buried and beyond salvage”, it stated.
However it stated that the persistent struggle of NSCN/GPRN led by Khaplang has so far foiled various attempts to establish Burmese Junta’s rule over the Nagas.
“The harrowing Juntas on failing to legitimize it’s rule even tried to influence the Nagas to join Myanmar Union by using the Democratic Icon of Myanmar, Aung Sang Su Ki and her liberal democratic views as a bait of democratic reforms and economic developments in the event of Su Ki’s resumption to politics and power, however Su Ki herself and her political party declined to join Junta manipulated elections, same time the Nagas also refused to be a part of Myanmar or Juntas rule in any manner  as in the present and the future like the past”, the MIP note stated.
The Eastern Nagas had never recognized any foreign rule or government except the indigenous NSCN/GPRN, people’s mandated governance.
It went on to explain that the NSCN/GPRN initiated by SS.Khaplang “decreed the boycott and prohibition of  any Nagas from participation in Junta’s imposed election in 2010” and that the People’s Army were mobilized all over Naga country to prevent the Junta’s election officials from conducting polling activities in Naga areas. As a result the symbolic election could be conducted only in three small border towns of Khamti, Lahe and Taklang, but under duress. Though under threat, the electorates were mostly non-Nagas and Burmese militias stationed in these Naga Towns, it stated while going on to add that the “rest millions of Naga population scattered across the length and breadth of Burma occupied Naga country not only refused participation but in compliance to SS.Khaplang’s decree boycotted even the entry of Burmese poll officials into Naga country”.
These facts can be verified from international organizations closely monitoring the unfolding events in Myanmar, the MIP note stated. Besides complete ignorance, it stated that “the Khehoi gang did not even try to inquire on the dire predicament of Naga brothers across the international border, instead of sympathizing or expressing solidarity, like other international communities, they out of stupidity, belligerence and as instructed by Indian Govt. Agencies has been trying to paint negative picture of the Eastern Nagas patriotic sacrifices and in the process has exposed itself as empty vessels making much worthless noises while in their haste to cover up the act of treason being  committed against the Nagas”.
It also claimed that on the other hand the “Khehoi gang’s diabolic open participation in Indian elections as recently as the last Nagaland Assembly bye-election held in Aolendeng A/C Mokokchung in the Month of May 2011”. Here, the MIP note claimed that Mr.Kitovi Zhimomi “made a drastic departure from his earlier support to Congress and even met the Sumi leaders and instructed them to vote for NPF quite obvious of the fact that IM were also canvassing for the NPF, thus jointly sealed the fate of NPF candidate’s victory”.
“Is it therefore proper and justified to engage, involve and directly participate in the Indian elections and acknowledge the actions as patriotic or nationalists, while resisting and boycotting the Burmese rule and elections as anti-Naga? It is for the entire Nagas and the world to give judgment on the two contradicting principles being propounded by NSCN/GPRN and Khehoi gangsters”, the MIP note stated.
Pointing out that it may be very new to most youngsters in Khehoi, who are politically too nascent to perceive the political situations, history and prevailing circumstances even amongst the indigenous Naga neighbors in the North East, it stated that “unless the truth is acquainted or verified, random utterances by inexperienced political teenagers and novices would only cause embarrassment and dis-grace to self”.

The MIP note has also informed that Mr.Kitovi Zhimomi himself assigned as Military Supervisor and Lt.Gen.Niki Sumi as the Operation Commander led the combined forces of IBRF and for months and years together and conducted offensive military operations during early nineties in Eastern Nagaland and parts of Nagaland like Mon, Tuensang, Mokokchung districts etc. Stating that the IBRF was “a loose alliance of revolutionary movements of North East India, each having own grievances against India, the only common trait the NSCN/GPRN share with revolting neighbors is the fact that, basically like the Nagas, they are also the indigenous struggling people in search of identity and liberation”.
Besides this, it was only a “matter of co-ordination and understanding amongst the various struggling and there is no question of diluting or contaminating the Nagas struggle for Sovereignty”, it stated while adding that in fact, the Nagas struggle had been the source of inspiration to many struggling groups in the region and South-Asia as well.
It was also disclosed that the then IBRF is now restructured and renamed to North-East Joint-Forces Alliance (NEJFA) with SS.Khaplang as the Convenor. “Tactical and strategic alliance to jointly monitor, assist and aid the alliance partners against the onslaught of common enemy i.e. India’s Political and military offensives, the internal affairs, issues, policies and programs and most importantly the principle and ideologies of the NSCN/GPRN remains intact or rather retrenched”, it stated. “The elderly patronage of the Nagas towards these struggling groups rather enhance our resolve, prestige and commitment to the cause that has been emulated by other deprived races in the hands of common enemy”, the MIP note stated.
Stating that the NSCN/GPRN under SS.Khaplang’s leadership shall therefore continue to uphold the friendship, partnership and mutual relationship with every struggling people that chose to ply the NSCN’s path of liberation and emancipation from foreign occupational rule, the MIP note pointed out that it was in fact a privilege to proudly assert the position of NSCN and the people as the leading undiminished torch bearer of the region against Burmese and Indian domination.
“No matter how much the Khehoi gangsters may try to twist and misinterpret the NSCN’s leadership of the regional alliance in order to impress it’s anti-Naga Indian masters, the fact that such alliance is only mutual and does not hamper or affect the Naga issue under any manner circumstances”, it stated adding that “rather it bolsters our resolve to carry ahead our mission unwaveringly”.
