NSCN Khaplang on Athibung camp

Dimapur, January 18 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN-Khaplang writes to the chairman of the Cease-Fire Supervisory Board for retention of Athibung designated camp. A copy of the letter addressed to the chairman of the board was received here today. “After the signing of cease-fire agreement between the NSCN Khaplang and Government of India, the Athibung designated camp was one of the seven camps of the NSCN (K) and established in 2001 as a first designated camp,” the letter, signed by Supervisor of CFSB Y Wangtin Naga of the NSCN/GPRN, stated.

“That, after the split of NSCN on 7th June 2011, the entire designated camps had been with NSCN (K) and publicly declared to be with NSCN (K) on 25th June 2011, but illegally and forcibly Mr. Kholi sent his cadres and occupied the camp even without a ceasefire agreement with GOI, which include Athibung designated camp, Samphure designated camp and Kuthur-Wungtho designated camp.

“That, the cadres deployed in the camps were NSCN (K) cadres and the occupation of Athibung designated camp on 15th January 2012 is a legal retention of camp under the purview of the cease-fire agreement,” the note said.

“However, there has been a violation of ceasefire ground Rules by Kholi-Kitovi group after 3:00 pm on 16th January 2012, under the command of C Singson who transported and attacked the NSCN’s Athibung designated camp. That, Kholi-Kitovi cadres moved from Khehoi to Athibung in 7 Vehicles and attacked the NSCN (K) camp which is a gross violation of cease-fire ground rules.” “That, the security forces should stop the movement of Kholi-Kitovi cadres from violating the cease-fire ground rules and restrict them from attacking Athibung designated camp to prove in letter and spirit on the implementation of agreed CFGR,” Y Wangtin Naga added.
