DIMAPUR, JULY 6 (MExN): The National Socialist Council of Nagaland Khaplang has stated that at no point of time in the history of the Nagas struggle, had the issue been “lowered to it’s nadir as in the present context being orchestrated by renegade and expelled former Gen. Secy. NSCN, N. Kitovi Zhimomi and his flocks of black sheep”. “In their desperate effort to garner public support and sympathy, the Khehoi residents are trying to project themselves as harbingers of peace, unity, reconciliation, solution etc. But the truth altered to suit their designs cannot be concealed for ever”, stated a press note issued by MIP NSCN/GPRN.
It pointed out that “since the nascent stage in the Naga political struggle, contemporary to formation of NNC, SS. Khaplang in his own effort had single-handedly been leading the ENNC against the onslaught of Burmese forces, when he came into contact with the founding leaders of NNC, with unity of Nagas being his priority and vision, he willingly merged with NNC and even refused the post of President which he has been offered”.
The MIP note also disclosed that during formation of NSCN, SS. Khaplang was “repeatedly asked to head the Government as its President and party Chairman but he declined saying that he neither craves for power nor prestige”. According to the MIP, even recently, several ethnic groups in Burma did approach him to head the conglomerate of Democratic Movement against Myanmar Junta. Despite the prospects and benefits he did not succumb to such lure, citing that he would never at any cost part with the rest of the Naga brothers in India, the MIP stated.
Such it stated was the “integrity and patriotism of SS. Khaplang under whose patronage Kitovi had been christened into the struggle” while lamenting that “Kitovi now chose to backstab Khaplang” which showed “how ungrateful human beings can become- of all the living creatures”.
The MIP note also stated that the “self-contradiction and blatant lie of Kitovi” was quite obvious, “when for the last one decade, he had independently been functioning and running the NSCN/GPRN affairs especially in the west, without any consultation or concern from his Excellency”. “The allegation of Khaplang’s dictatorial insinuation only serves to expose his shallow politicking”, the press note stated.
The statement went on to add that Kitovi himself, “like a prodigal son deserted SS Khaplang in pursuit of wealth, luxury and comforts, instead of repenting and returning to his mentor” and that “he is now trying to assert his existence along with the band of rogues by forcefully occupying NSCN’S designated camp at Khehoi”.
On allegation of Khaplang’s aversion to Naga unity and reconciliation, the MIP stated that it had already been proved to the Nagas and the world how SS Khaplang “has ever been instrumental in bringing forth constructive policies, programmes etc to unite and reconcile the Nagas”. “In the Atlanta peace conclave hosted by World Baptist Alliance, despite non-cooperation and non-participation from (IM), NSCN/GPRN led by Khaplang whole heartedly participated and endeavoured to harvest the peace”.
Pointing out that SS Khaplang had never faltered from his commitment to peace and unity, the MIP note stated that as recently as first quarter of this year, even when the “IM forces attacked Khaplang’s forces in Eastern Nagaland, Gen. Khole and Kitovi chose to remain silent, all the while the IM continued to violate “COR” at will all over Nagaland, such as killing, torture, harassment, arrests of our cadres and seizure of weapons etc”. The press note stated that SS Khaplang “stood firm and resilient and only sought intervention from FNR”. “Had it not been for Khaplang’s statesmanship the fragile peace process would not have survived this far”, the MIP note stated.
The NSCN Khaplang has also claimed that “Kitovi on his own volition without any consultation or approval from the President or the Naga people has already accepted financial largesse and economic package proposal from the Govt of India and exclusively for the Nagas of Nagaland even when the political dialogue is yet to begin”.
“Ever money monger is his nature that he is now intoxicated amassing wealth and building his family business empire, his philosophy revolves only around his family and his outlook never beyond the realm of his own clan”, stated the MIP while adding that “Nagas may judge for themselves as to who is functioning dictatorially, un-constitutionally or arbitrarily, who is for peace, reconciliation and unification and vice-versa”.
It also stated that in order to “stop prostitution of Naga sacred struggle”, it cautioned “the Khehoi campers not to refer or associate themselves to NSCN/GPRN under the able leadership of SS Khaplang”. “They may only focus on their activities, achievements etc. if any and relate/inform the same to the Nagas starting from the 7th. of June 2011, the day they decided to secede from NSCN/GPRN till date. If these renegades have any decency of a normal human being, they should have refrained themselves from castigating SS Khaplang or NSCN/GPRN under which they have been sailing all through”.
The press note also described them as a “collection of desperados, comprising of experts from various professions such as kidnappers, pronounced criminals at large, car thieves, extortionists, market mafias, bootleggers, smugglers of illegal substances, alcoholics, drug addicts, socially ostracised and bunch of ever greedy businessmen”.
“All these elements, when combined indeed portray a very fearsome and dreaded force and for whom conscience or patriotic spirit is too alien and new. It is now left to the better judgement of the Nagas whether or not to give them political mileage”, stated the MIP note from the NSCN Khaplang.

Clarifies on ceasefire
DIMAPUR, JULY 6 (MExN): The National Socialist Council of Nagaland Khaplang has pointed out that the ceasefire was signed “in between NSCN (K) or National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) and the GOI and definitely not NSCN (Kitovi) or for that reason not even NSCN (Khole)” and that the ceasefire “continues to be there as it was before with the NSCN (K)”. According to a press note issued by MIP Secretary, “if Mr. Kitovi felt that, Chairman S.S. Khaplang is a Burmese than, he must be an Indian”. “Therefore, a ceasefire between an Indian Kitovi and his own Indian brothers does not arise. There is no question of any ceasefire among them when they share everything in common”, the MIP note stated. Pointing out that Kitovi was “a pawn in the hands of some Indian agencies” and was doing everything on the directives of those forces ...
“who are bent to weaken the sacred Naga National cause and to bring division among the Naga family”, the MIP note went on to allege that for that matter “Kitovi has also roped in Mr. Khole who was paid Rs.70 (Seventy lakhs) at Minyaksu on 10th October 2010 to speak his language”.
The MIP note also stated that “Mr. Khole who was among the most regarded Naga leader, had vowed not to step in the Naga soil on the Indian side until Nagas achieve full independence and he did so until as recently as 2009”. “But, he was slowly poisoned by Mr. Kitovi into today’s materialistic world. He was a General even during the undivided NSCN and was the most respected Naga Army General but, today Kitovi has reduced him to a General withou t an Army”, stated the MIP.
The NSCN Khaplang termed as “unfortunate that Kitovi, who in his long career as an Ato-kilonser never had any political wisdom for the Nagas” and was today, trying to “cultivate divisions among the Naga family to please his godfather and his cheap propaganda clearly indicates that, Kitovi is another name for a burden to the Nagas”.
