DIMAPUR, JULY 12 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Khaplang) has warned of unauthorized persons collecting taxes in Kohima in its name and has cautioned Government offices, business establishments and individuals to be wary of those persons collecting any forms of taxes or donations in its name. The Chaplee Ministry through its finance secretary in charge of Kohima, A. Kits, in a release stated that NSCN/GPRN has taken cognizance of one Capt AK Khamo who is illegally and through unauthorized means, collecting tax from business establishments in and around Kohima town.
Stating that Capt AK Khamo is an anonymous to the organization, the release has cautioned the concerned business establishments and other agencies not to be confused but rather confirm from the secretary in charge for authenticity.
The release stated that the NSCN/GPRN (Khaplang) will continue to derive tax and donations from various sources for the cause of Naga nation, as usual and which has been in practice by NSCN (IM) and NNC for over the years, including the organisation.
The chaplee ministry also informed that tax levied on business establishments for the current year has not begun and it has directed the Supervisor, Angami Region and Kohima town Urban Commander to assist the finance secretary in dealing with the matter.
The release also sought the co-operation and assistance from HODs and AHODs of different government departments in matters of finance and has further asked the concerned departments to clarify from the NSCN/GPRN authorities if any demand letters/notes are received in its name.

It has also asked business establishments to contact its Supervisor, Angami Region at 9612907549 and its urban commander at 9402720369 during the course of collection of market tax.
