DIMAPUR, MARCH 25 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today appealed to the Nagaland Chief Secretary to issue directives to Nagaland state guest houses/bhavans in various cities of the country to accommodate the Naga people left stranded on the streets due to the nationwide lockdown and that measures be taken for compulsory quarantine of the guests.
In a letter to the Chief Secretary, the NSF President, NinotoAwomi urged that provisions be made to provide personal protection kit to all those attending to the guests and working in the various state Bhavans. It also asked that the in-charges of the state Bhavans be instructed to store essential goods in order to reach out and help the Naga people who are in need.
Special permission should be granted to the Naga leaders and volunteers in various cities to venture out during the lockdown and help than Naga people in need of their service and their conveyances requirements should be taken care of by the state government, it appealed.
It meanwhile requested the State Government to extend financial assistance to the Naga Student bodies in various Indian cities in order for them to effectively carry out their duty of serving the Naga people in distress.
The NSF further stated that the directive be issued to all state Bhavans to extend maximum help in case of medical emergencies and burial in case of dead. It expressed confidence that these measures would go a long way towards combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
It meanwhile acknowledged the State Government for implementing several precautionary measures and restrictions and hoped that they would keep the people of the State safe.
