DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 11 (MExN): The Naga Students Federation (NSF) has informed its federating units, sub-units, and the students' community that the first phase of agitation on the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) issue has been kept in abeyance.
This decision was made following communication from the Nagaland State Government that it is actively pursuing the matter of setting up of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) which will be tasked with the responsibility of recruitment of Grade III staff under the government. The State Government informed that the draft proposal was placed as agenda in its cabinet meeting held on October 18 wherein it was decided that a committee under the chairmanship of Sentiyanger Imchen, Additional Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner would examine the modalities.
The NSF appreciated the Chief Minister and his cabinet for “responding to the aspirations of the Naga youths and students towards promoting meritocracy by setting up a committee on the same.”
Further, the NSF appealed to the committee to “examine the matter on its true merit and accordingly forward its recommendation to the State Government within the stipulated time.” It expressed optimism that the State Government would set up the NSSB at the earliest based on the examination of the committee’s recommendation.
